Piko
Purpose of Piko: Piko is an offline-first Android personal scheduler and productivity app for creating and managing reminders, alarms, timers, notes, checklists, recurring schedules, calendar views, and optional location-based triggers. Piko helps users capture plans, schedule alerts, organize notes and lists, and manage everyday tasks in one app. Typed commands are parsed on your device, and core data stays local by default. Google Drive backup and sync are optional and are used only after you explicitly connect your Google account.

Piko is an offline-first personal scheduler and notes app. Primary data lives in a local Drift/SQLite database and local preferences. Typed command parsing is rule-based and runs on the device; it does not need a downloaded language model or a cloud AI service.

Choose current, saved, recent, manual, or map-selected locations with an OpenStreetMap picker. Closed-app triggers require precise foreground and background location access.
Timer
One persisted engine across app and system.
Running and paused timers use a silent foreground countdown, while completion uses a separate exact alert for sound and vibration when supported.

Connected features are optional and use the narrowest access described by the current implementation.
Local storage
Core records live in Piko’s app storage.
Schedules, Notes, Home thread entries, Timer state, settings, saved places, and related metadata are stored locally unless you explicitly export or connect Drive.
Limited Drive scope
Piko cannot browse ordinary Drive files.
Optional Google Drive sync uses drive.appdata, which lets Piko manage only its own private app-data files.

No broad storage, contacts, phone, SMS, camera, or device-calendar access.
Attachments and imports use system file flows. Voice, location, notifications, exact alarms, overlays, and lock-screen access are tied to the features that need them.
Privacy-aware surfaces
Alerts avoid unnecessary linked-content text.
Reminder follow-up payloads exclude Note bodies and list-row text, and the Schedules widget can hide schedule titles while the device is locked.

Core typed commands, local schedules, Notes, Calendar views, Insights, Timers, backups, and exports can work without a Piko cloud account. Internet is needed for OpenStreetMap tiles, optional Google Drive, platform-store billing, and any speech service used by your phone.
No. Typed command parsing is rule-based and runs on the device. The current product does not require a downloaded language model, a cloud AI service, a Local AI model manager, or a production Whisper runtime.
No. Piko requests the Google Drive drive.appdata scope for optional backup and sync. It is limited to app data created for Piko in Drive’s private app-data area.
The Calendar panel currently projects Piko’s local schedule occurrences. The source includes a calendar-sync abstraction, but the current production provider is not configured, and Piko does not request access to the device’s system calendar database.
No account is required for core local features. Google account and Drive consent appear only after you explicitly Connect, Reconnect, or start a Drive operation.
Notifications, exact alarms, full-screen alerts, overlays, Do Not Disturb bypass, battery reliability, background location, and microphone access each support a specific feature. You can skip setup; Piko keeps local functions available and shows the relevant limitation or notification fallback.
No. Delivery can still be affected by device shutdown, a dead battery, permissions, Do Not Disturb, manufacturer restrictions, operating-system behavior, location availability, time settings, or hardware failure. Do not use Piko as your only alert for emergencies or safety-critical events.
